This is my first post here. Thanks for all you are doing! I was going to make my own control based on a 9x box and Xbee as the RF module. I was thinking of something for FPV sailplane competitions where say a triangle course was set. The turn points could be some tethered baloons holding up an XBee repeater. Since the repeaters are all at a high height (say 300ft or so) the line of sight range is quite far. Of course all models could be defined as repeaters too, is this what the RF cloud means?

Hi Sideslip and welcome to the forum

Yes, that is one of the functions of the RF Cloud. Although none of the OSRC equipment actually repeats anything and the operation is more complex than that.
