Hi, i like the project. I was thinking that the controller of system can use 32 bits MCU to be complex, so that the OSRC software can use embedded operating system(RTOS). An RTOS helps meet challenging reliability. It likes a platform that let people add application, also facilitate subsequent maintenance. It can let us absorbed in functional development without consideration of the underlying hardware.

The Main unit was designed as simple as possible so that other developers or beginners could understand it and add upon its already rich set of features.

For more complex tasks, FPVC Advanced is available, which uses an ARM processor at 1GHz and operates on Android.

I'm tinking that Android‘s reliability is not good for remote control, FPVC Advanced can use Linux directly.

For the sake of productive discussion, what are the advantages -or key features- that you identified on Android that made you choose Android in the first place?

Seems that there is some confusion here. Android on FPVC Advanced IS NOT controlling a model. FPVC Advanced acts as a computer station and provides the UI for complex UAV or other operations. It never was designed to control in real time the model, that would just be unpractical.
