The title says it all. Its kind of hard to hear over the computer then the camera but what I did get just had my jaw open the whole time...Your idea is above everything in this hobby. You are combining so much together into one unit it just has me dumbfounded. Could someone get me a link to where I can donate? The price of the radio along is very reasonable when you think of it compared to the dx8 or other radios out there...the only troubele is is that they cant even touch your invention...In my mind...i compare this invention to figuring out the technology for getting a man to mars..its just too cool...i already put a thread on rcpowers about this and im going to do it for some more...just all i can say is amazing man, amazing.

Im in school for engineering, and i heard he need 600k to make 1000 etc etc..I signed up to inform that guy that its possible to do it much cheaper, and you dont need that crazy expensive sls machine either. injection molds are simple cheap and easy to make. were making 4 new ones in class right now! And the boards can all be printed as many or as few as you want by certain companies.

in the video you said something about if you needed to make 1000, to make them affordable it would cost around 600...and i thought you said 600 thousand. I can tell you that printing them is not the way to do it. unless its dmls or sls. sla printers are a layering type system and they WILL break. you would be better off to take that money and invest it in a set of injection molds, you would need 2 molds, 4 peices, and would cost around 750 per mold. any decent injection molding company would make you a run of say 300 or so. and your talking about less than a dollar each at that point.

You really should listen to the video carefully It was mentioned that i initially wanted to manufacture the system with injection molding and all bells and whistles. However to do a proper manufacturing run (like the big boys do it) the budget required (NOT only for the parts) is about 600k. Now this amount is not exact although i do have tons of documents and calculations for a production like this and it would be unwise to consider the amount out of context without knowing the costs and work behind it.

Since i don't have a budget like that there is an IndieGoGo campaign to build a proper SLA printer and manufacture in small quantities (at least initially).

I don't know what equipment you used to come to the conclusion that SLA parts break but the ones i tested are rigid enough to bang with a hammer. Also you need to design the part properly to port it to a 3D printer solution (which is already done in the second version of the machine)

I haven't heard of a company that can make an injection mold for 750 USD. OSRC does not have only 4 components but a large amount of them which need to be de-molded properly to work. Although the injection molded part would cost 1 - 2 USD i really have no idea where you have seen an injection mold which is machined and designed for something like OSRC cost 700 USD, i am sure it doesn't exist. Also no one is going to do a production run for 300 pcs, more likely for 1000 (if you are lucky).

In any case the plastics are not all that is needed to produce OSRC, based on the budget and time the manufacturing process is different in many aspects. Too many to describe in the Forum
