Hi demetris !

First thing first , congratulation for your work , the ILIOS HD is a nice piece of engineering ! :cheer:
And I'm happy to see that , that I'm not the only one interested by a larger build area, and I think it would be great to maximise the potential of this 3D printer.
I'm interested about a larger one than what andersen is proposing, I would say something around 560x560 mm build area ?. From your discussion I guess it is technicaly possible to do that, but I also think it might be more reliable to do it with 2 projectors or more, instead of using just one that moves in 4 places, and plus, it will help maintain, the same build time.
did you ever try your 3D printer with a dual DLP projection ? and with a bigger build area ?

Thank you for the positive feedback.

For the time being i am not concentrating on making the machine build on a larger build area than what is specified for the X and Y axis. It gets too complicated after you begin working with more than 2 projectors and doing it manually would require someone who knows how to do it.

I am manly concentrating on the software part of the machine right now and making it a presentable complete package, with as less hustle as possible for the end user.

Yes i did use dual projection, as it was shown on the FaceBook page with no problems. Haven't tried anything bigger than what is described in the Ilios specifications (for the X and Y axis that is)

I welcome everyone to participate in Ilios discussions, stories, projects and other related content as well as contribute in any way possible to make the project a truly helpful and versatile tool for everyone to use and constantly improve.

Yours, Demetris Z.
